The Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training develops practical teaching skills and, through the optional units, prepares teachers to work in a wide range of contexts.
\nIt can meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, including:<\/p>\n

• Individuals who are not currently teaching and training but who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements, of the qualification<\/li>\n
• Individuals who are currently teaching and training who can meet the practice requirements, including the observed and assessed practice requirements of the qualification<\/li>\n
• Individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a teaching qualification<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  The objective of this qualification is to confirm occupational competence in a teaching role within the workplace.<\/p>\n

  Entry Guidance<\/span><\/strong><\/span>
  \nAll trainee teachers joining this qualification programme should undertake an initial assessment of skills in English, mathematics and ICT. They should record their development needs and, where applicable, agree an action plan to address them. If trainees join the qualification programme having already undertaken an initial assessment of their English, mathematics and ICT skills, their record of development needs and any previous action taken to address them should be reviewed and<\/p>\n

  Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be 19 or over to undertake the qualification.<\/p>\n
